The England manager Questions Wembley Crowd Support Despite Emphatic Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel shared his sadness that the Three Lions team did not enjoy more backing from the home crowd during their decisive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

The manager was happy to see his side continue their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter effectively ending the match. Yet, he was displeased with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“We had limited sessions to get ready against a drilled team and we did very well,” the coach commented. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We couldn’t score the additional goals. It was quiet. There was no support from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them get away. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team deserved greater backing today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a bit more support in phases where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Apart from potentially starting a fight with supporters, the manager also raised eyebrows by leaving out Bellingham and Foden from his squad. However the choice was backed up by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is competing for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Loss

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Monday, take lessons from their awful first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy commented. “I wanted to assess where we are. What are our ambitions? Who do we want to be? Today gives me inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was withdrawn at the break after colliding with a goalpost and may miss out when England face Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
