Two Individuals Charged with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
